This took me a LONG time to post because I had photos to compile. The second day was mostly mooching around and talking to people, as well as my lovely Tori who I haven’t seen in years. So here’s some photos! I’ll be honest, there’s not many because I didn’t get a lot of good ones, but here are my favourites.
Wellington Armageddon 2011 – Day One
I’m completely too tired to write in this… What an amazing day! Met up and chatted to some awesome people, saw some amaaaazing cosplays!
I bought these things:

Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII) figurine!
This is my favorite photos of me of the day. I’m with someone dressed as Aerith!
I entered the cosplay parade too – and of course, tripped as I was getting onto the stage.
The cosplay games were hilarious, it was basically a “Pokemon vs. Digimon” theme. One dude had to sing the Jigglypuff song and I was dying laughing. It was fantastic
Well, that’s all for now, will be back with more updates and photos tomorrow!
Costume Hiccups
Well, it’s two days out until I head for Wellington Armageddon, and I’ve hit a slight bump with the costume.
The knee armor I made is FAR too big, so I’m going to be making them quickly again tonight. They looked ridiculous, so I’m going to make much smaller ones. I’m just going to have to hope the spray paint dries by Friday morning!
The harness and strap have been a little but troublesome, they required an immense amount of logistical planning, bur I finally managed to get what I needed it to do. I will be finishing it tonight, although I think I might run out of snaps, so I’ll be going down to spotlight tomorrow to get more.
That’s all I’ve got to say at the moment; so here is a cute picture of Nimbus trying to get my attention away from sewing by flopping all over my fabric!
Costume Update!
With less than a week to go until Armageddon Wellington 2011, I thought I would update this with some work-in-progress pictures of my costume. So here they are!
Wig styling: this was the first step, before I had cut anything, just spiked it up.
Shoulder armor: I used DAS air drying clay to make these. This is a preview!
Knee armor: Made these last night using very hard cardboard and LOTS of hot glue. Painted grey, will be spraypainted silver tonight.
Pants, shirt, scarf: my friend Jemma sewed most of this for me. The scarf we basically made a large tube, the shirt and pants are an altered scrubs pattern. Other parts shown in this photo are all the leg straps (I used dog collars for these) and the shoes and gloves which I bought.
Creative
I have finally decided what to do with this blog. It is going to document all the creative stuff I am working on, plus any trips I go on.
The blog is going to be fairly image heavy, but it will be worth it!
When I am working on or have finished something, it will be posted here. It will also have features of other writers, artists, costume makers and musicians that I enjoy the work of.
So what am I up to?
My first project for the year is to make a cosplay costume of Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core to wear at Armageddon.
I will leave you with a picture of Cloud that I am making my costume of, expect updates of this soon.
